OCTOBER UPDATE - LOCATION CHANGE 

In the interest of aligning with our values and mission as well as ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our attendees, there has been a venue change for Beyond Impact 2023. The event will now take place at the Hyatt Regency Conroe in the Greater Houston area (1001 Grand Central Parkway, Conroe, Texas). This relocation affirms our commitment to fostering a secure and welcoming environment for our community, allowing us to delve deeper into transformative discussions, immersive experiences, and collaborative workshops that center on political power and collective liberation. We look forward to welcoming participants to this empowering event and continuing our journey toward a pro-Black future.

Beyond Impact 2023

Welcome to Beyond Impact 2023, where the power of transformation meets the heartbeat of political change. As one of the only 501(c)(4) strategy and learning spaces, Beyond Impact exists to serve and strengthen the advocacy infrastructure of movement leaders passionate about igniting a revolutionary shift in the political landscape of the United States. Our mission goes beyond envisioning change; we are committed to aligning organizational practices, visions, and resources to create sustainable platforms for BIPOC-led political organizing.

Tides Advocacy invites you to join us October 25-26, 2023 in Houston, Texas to reimagine a world where political power is no longer wielded by the few but instead is co-governed by communities. Together, we will harness the power of C4s – practices, models, and resources – to pave the way for a future that authentically reflects the principles of love to achieve collective liberation.

What is this year’s theme?  

This year's theme, "C4 Power: Building a Pro-Black Future," propels us into a transformative journey that centers those who are closest to a hopeful vision to birth solutions that upend systemic inequalities and dismantle oppressive structures hindering our progress to a genuinely liberatory future. 

Beyond Impact 2023 is a call to action for individuals, organizations, and communities to stand together in solidarity and fight for a future where political transformation is not just an aspiration but a tangible reality.

Tides Advocacy calls all visionary leaders, and passionate funders committed to driving social justice through political organizing!

 

Are you a movement leader, change-maker, seasoned activist, funder, or emerging advocate with a burning desire to advance a social justice agenda?

 

Beyond Impact is your platform to connect, collaborate, and learn from like-minded individuals who share your unwavering commitment to creating a more just and equitable society.

 

A genuinely inclusive movement requires the collaboration of voices for cross-racial solidarity.

 

Whether you are a Tides Advocacy fiscally sponsored project, grantee, or non-Tides Advocacy partner, your expertise and passion for transformative change are valuable contributions to this event.

Travel Scholarships for Tides Advocacy Fiscally Sponsored Projects 

We are excited to announce that Tides Advocacy will provide full travel scholarships to support our fiscally sponsored projects who wish to attend Beyond Impact 2023. Each organization can receive up to two travel scholarships while participating speakers from these organizations can receive one additional scholarship. To register, please use the Tides Advocacy partner code provided. These scholarships can be used towards travel and accommodation expenses associated with attending the event.

 

Travel Scholarship Application Process: Open to All Ecosystem Partners

At Beyond Impact, we value inclusivity and aim to deepen our community of movement leaders, changemakers, and those interested in attending. To achieve this, we have created a discounted registration Scholarship Program. Our goal is to offer financial assistance to selected recipients to help cover expenses related to the convening (i.e., registration fees, travel, and hotel lodging).

Please note that the availability of travel scholarships is limited, and we strongly advise applicants to apply as soon as possible. We will do our best to provide as much financial assistance as possible to those who qualify.

 

Criteria for Travel Scholarship Eligibility:

1. Financial Need: Priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate financial need and may face difficulties in covering the costs of attending the conference. This applies to organizations with an annual organizational budget of less than $500k. We strongly encourage individuals from underrepresented and marginalized communities to apply.

2. Commitment to Racial Justice: Applicants should demonstrate commitment to racial justice and building a pro-Black future. We encourage those whose work, activism, or organizational values closely align with the conference's themes to apply.

3. Relevance to Conference Themes: Applicants should highlight how their participation in the conference will contribute to the dialogue and goals of "C4 Power: Building a Pro-Black Future." We encourage applicants to provide specific examples of how the conference will support their ongoing work or initiatives.

4. Geographic Representation: We aim to have diverse representation and viewpoints from individuals in various geographic regions. Preference may be given to candidates from areas where electoral or policy decisions significantly impact the well-being of BIPOC communities.

5. Commitment to Conference Participation: Applicants must be willing to commit to attending and participating in the full range of Beyond Impact sessions.

 

How to Apply for the Travel Scholarship:

1. Access Travel Application Form: To apply for the scholarship, head to the conference website, where you'll find the application form. Be sure to fill out all the necessary information before submitting.

2. Application Submission Deadline: The deadline for submitting Travel Scholarship applications is Friday, September 8th, 2023. Please ensure your application is complete, as incomplete applications may not be considered.

3. Review and Notification: The Scholarship Committee will review all applications and select recipients based on the eligibility criteria. Selection notifications will be sent out on an ongoing basis, and all final notifications will be communicated by Monday, September 24th, 2023.
